The
Raging Grannies
are feisty
older women with something to say
about the ways things are done -
or not done.
They say what they think about peace,
justice, equality, and politics,
and they say it in satirical songs.
They write their own satirical lyrics
to familiar tunes, dress in old
fashioned "granny" clothes
and outrageous hats.
They perform at rallies, demonstrations,
protest meetings - and sometimes
in "guerilla fashion"
on our own, in places and at times
when they may not be wanted (but
SHOULD be!). They never assume,
but make sure of our facts.
They rage in song to get our message
across to the widest audience, and
because they are not "Entertainers"
they do not charge. Sometimes, however,
they are offered an honorarium which
helps with our expenses.
As
Raging
Grannies,
they dedicate their efforts to the
children of the world in hope that
they may live in peace and harmony,
safe from pollution and war.
